project brief
Design a city layout based on chosen written descriptions from the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, focusing on connecting a theme and movement through space.
concept
Anastasia is a city developed within a set of concentric canals. Its residents enjoy the bath houses and markets scattered throughout the area. Dense gardens and parks are accessible every few blocks, and rocky mountains divide the city's districts. From these mountains, workers mine the gold, stone, and gems that fill the city's markets. the narrow cobblestone streets are lined with bakeries, wineries, and jewelers who craft unique pieces using the treasures mined from the area. Anastasia is a city designed to bring its residents together with one another, and with the stunning environment by which they are surrounded.
